Recent judicial appointments in Nashville and Murfreesboro

Governor Bill Haslem recently appointed Angelita Blackshear Dalton as criminal court judge in Davidson County (20th Judicial District) and Barry Ross Tidwell as circuit court judge in Rutherford and Cannon counties (16th Judicial District).  

For more than a decade, Judge Dalton served as general sessions judge in Nashville.  Before joining the bench, she worked at the District Attorney’s Office for the  20th Judicial District from 1997 to 2005.  She is active in domestic violence causes.

Before his appointment by Governor Haslem, Judge Tidwell served as general sessions judge in Murfreesboro for more than two years.  Prior to his judicial service, he was a private attorney in general practice from 2000 to 2014.  Before that, he clerked for Judge Cheryl Blackburn in Nashville.  He is currently board chairman for Habitat for Humanity Tennessee.
